Recommended Software
Here i've put together a list of recommended programs, these are just a few things i like to use. I tend to go for clean, simple, fast and reliable programs because in my opinion they're the best kind and i really don't like programs hogging system resources.
Google Chrome - awesome web browser by google, technically the best IMO and the fastest.
AVG Free Anti virus - free anti-virus software that's better than most paid anti-virus programs, DON'T PAY FOR ANTI-VIRUS!!!
µTorrent - nice and simple bitTorrent client, runs well in the background using less system recourses than other bt clients.
FileZilla - my favorite ftp client, has a very handy quickconnect feature if you work woth multiple websites.
WinSCP - windows explorer style interface for linux servers, use this in conjunction with putty and your life will be a lot easier.
WinAmp 5 + MilkDrop - media player by nullsoft that plays mp3 and other audio files... very good for music and (if you get the MilkDrop plug-in) the Visualisations will blow your mind!
Tor - Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis.
